Rails to Trails

Post by nancy » 9 years ago

I let my fingers do the walking (erm…my mouse do the clicking) seeking accessible outdoor activities. I lucked out and found the Rails to Trails Conservancy (RTTC).

RTTC uses public rights of way to build trails near rail lines, canals and other public lands to create trails for biking, inline skating, walking AND WITH WHEELCHAIR AND SCOOTER ACCESS!

Missouri has a great rail trail. I hiked and biked just about the entire trail. Almost the whole state walking and biking. No vehicles are allowed on the trail. You'll see vultures, what I think are armadillos , moles or im not sure what they are, they resemble beavers in size so maybe they're beavers, very high rock cliffs, lots of cattle, deer, you'll hear coyotes in some places at night, there might be bobcats out at night, cardinals, and more. It's a nice trail . I would go again if I had someone to go with.
