Let's Be Friendly!

Hello Everybody!
So a little thing I have noticed recently is a slight raise in animosity towards new people, it's not too much of a problem yet, but I want to address it before it becomes a problem, which it has before.
Some new people are being jumped on or being told we are not a dating site and chased away for asking very simple questions, let's try not to assume that they are looking for a dating site until they say so or it becomes obvious, it might be possible that it's just a female member with a non-gender specific name wanting to feel reassured it's not a chat room full of horny men and there are other female chat members, this happens out there on the Internet, which has happened before somebody looking for a dating site specifically for people with disabilities have been renamed and one, there's nothing wrong with asking, a very quick "they did not exist" is all that is needed in response.
But this is not the only thing I have noticed, we are a tightknit group and we have certain ways, it's not always easy for people to integrate immediately into a tightknit group, they may withhold a little information, this is normal, let's not press them for it or attack them for withholding or having inconsistencies, let's try to make them feel welcome so they stay, any fakers or unsavoury types will be weeded out by the moderators and the admin, we are very good at this, we have tools at our disposal which makes us better to do this!
Besides, can you remember when you first joined? How you were received? I hope it was a good experience, and that's the kind of way we should greet new people, either how we were greeted, or how we would have liked to have been greeted!
But please let's try to stay away from jumping on new people for the smallest of details, relax, try to get to know them, and try to make them feel welcome, you were once like them, and without new people, our user list would get very small very quickly and so diminish the quality of conversation which is something else new people bring, something to add to the conversation!
So yeah, let's be friendly!
Thank you
