Created by and for people with physical disabilities.
Here are some of the more frequently asked questions that we get in the chat room.
Disabilities-R-Us is internet chat site created by and for people with physical disabilities (but everyone is welcome). We used to have scheduled weekly Wednesday meetings but now you can drop on in for some friendly chat almost any time of the day.
No, we are open to anyone and everyone.
The room is called Disabilities-R-Us because virtually all of the people in the room have one or more physical disabilities. It also is an indicator that if you do indeed have a disability, this is the place to come to when you need to find people who truly understand and care. During the rest of the time, you will get to meet many different people from across the world and discuss everything from world events to internet programming to your favorite ant farming techniques.
Yes, it is totally free.
But with freedom comes responsibility. We are a community supported site and depend on voluntary contributions to keep the site open.
No.
A devotee is a sexual deviant who sexually attracted to a person ONLY because of their disability. We are seen as a hobby or fetish to be fullfilled, rather than as a real people with feelings, thoughts and ideas. This does not mean that if you like/love someone who is disabled or if you find some part of persons disability to be attractive that it automatically makes you a devotee. But if you come into the room thinking of us as a meat market to indulge your fantasies then you should expect to be tossed out on your ass.
Most people start out by using our online web chat page. It is by far the easiest to use and does not usually require you to install any additional software.
We also have our very own Disabilities-R-Us Chat Software that you can download and install. It it very easy to use and has more features than the online web chat.
If you are already using traditional IRC software like mIRC, our server and channel (room) information is:
